Modini actively supports veterans, and abide by the Armed Forces Covenant. We will always offer assistance and an interview to every veteran who approach us.

We uphold the Equality Act 2010 and maintain a working environment where our team can develop, grow, connect and thrive. We recognise the varying contributions we all can make, and our team is encouraged to be forthcoming with wider and differing perspectives.

Our working environment is free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and all forms of unlawful discrimination. We have a zero-tolerance policy to anything that is contrary to this. Mutual respect is a core value of ours which we proactively promote. We believe in dignity for everyone – our team, our customers and all those with whom we engage.

NetZero by 2030 | How we are taking action | Investing in renewables

We’re a climate positive workplace, believing in ‘made to last’, ethical production, and supporting sustainability for a better world.

NetZero by 2030

We design, build and operate uncrewed systems globally every month and while we love supporting our clients, we acknowledge that this comes at a cost to the environment. That’s why we’ve made some big changes to reach our goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. It’s a big undertaking but we’re fully committed to taking care of our planet.

We commit to delivering NetZero Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions before 2030 through the socially and environmentally conscious delivery of our overarching policies and procedures and governance plans.

To achieve this commitment, we have identified key milestones:

  • Establish an accurate near real time carbon emissions calculator within the business by Q4 2023.

  • Climate Friendly Workforce by 2023.

  • Climate Positive Workforce by 2025.

  • Halving our Net GHG emissions by 2026.

How we’re taking action

We've partnered with Ecologi a climate social action enterprise to tackle the climate crisis through the following:

Planting trees

Planting trees is one of the best tools we have in removing carbon pollution from our atmosphere and we've partnered with Ecologi a climate social action enterprise to tackle the climate crisis through planting trees.

Carbon avoidance

Carbon avoidance projects provide complementary climate solutions to prevent greenhouse gas emissions, restore nature, and support local communities. We support these to compensate for our unavoidable emissions.

Removal of CO2e

Under projected global warming pathways modelled by the IPCC, there is a role for removing carbon from the atmosphere, to complement significant global emissions reductions. We therefore can reduce the rate at which the atmospheric CO2 concentration is increasing by reducing emissions and by directly removing CO2 from the atmosphere.

We support carbon removal with Ecologi through select methodologies administered by the Gold Standard, Verified Carbon Standard, and Puro Standard.

Habitat restoration

Creating and restoring habitats isn’t just important for plants and animals above the ground; this habitat restoration work is vital to keep soils healthy too. For example, the presence of native wildflowers brings much-needed stability to soils, preventing soil degradation and erosion due to weather. Healthy soils can support much more life, providing organisms with the nutrients and moisture they need to survive. Furthermore, healthy soils are a very important carbon store, keeping carbon locked away for hundreds or even thousands of years.

Accelerating the transition to a more sustainable energy future

Modini is taking tangible action to limit the impacts of our activities on the planet, and whever possible benefit the planet with sustainability that stands up to scrutiny. We have committed to reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and have taken action by investing in renewables infrastructure though Ripple. Our investment in Ripple enables us to:

  • make quantifiable carbon reductions and contribute to climate action for the long-term, by using renewable energy.

  • directly add to the UK’s renewable energy capacity, enabling brand new wind and solar projects to be built.

  • engage with our customers, suppliers, employees and stakeholders through sustainability leadership.
